Ripe strawberry and bubble gum on the nose. Tart red fruit and some tannin on the palate. I like how the wine evolved during the night. I will seek out more. |

2/18/2024 - BMWilhoite Does not like this wine: 77 pointsVery heavy on sweet earth and mushrooms, overpowering the rest of the flavors. Don’t get any fruitiness or juice that the other reviewers seem to find. |

1/12/2024 - AMG4RPM Likes this wine: 95 pointsOutstanding in every way. Start with the cork which is a “technical” not natural cork; so absolutely no worries about ending up with a corked bottle after 15+ years of aging. The wine is fresh and vibrant all of the rough edges have been smoothed by time in the bottle. Dark rich berry fruit; marionberry, boysenberry, and blackberry predominate. the finish provides graphite and tobacco notes to balance out the upfront fruit. Sadly, only one bottle remains in our cellar….. |

12/1/2022 - dalemosier Likes this wine: 92 pointsBig syrah - agree with previous notes that it is a CS lover's syrah. Drank with my sommelier daughter-in-law along with Tensley 2017 syrah. She likes big syrahs younger than I do and even she agreed it would likely get better with a few years. |

11/28/2022 - isaacjamesbaker wrote: 90 pointsHad never heard of this producer before, but knew the vineyard so I was hoping for some fun stuff. Definitely over-delivered. Juicy dark plums on the nose, with beef, pepper, spiced black tea, charcoal pit. The palate is vibrant and silky with juicy plums and black cherries, dusty tannins. Flavors of chewing tobacco, violets, mesquite, cocoa, scorched earth. Fresh, fun, savory. In a really nice place right now. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

1/30/2022 - dpolzien Likes this wine: 90 pointsWTSO buy. Haven't had too many Oregon Syrahs, let alone with a bit of age on them, but found this encouraging me to try more. Agree with the previous notes on this being a 'cab drinker's Syrah', but that's not a negative. Also agree with the decanting notes, and also recommend leaving some overnight, as Day 2 showed better than Day 1. Paired well with a Porterhouse with Chimichurri. Pretty good QPR at <$19 delivered, would not hesitate to buy again. Drink now with a long decant or hold. |

1/21/2022 - jmull Likes this wine: 90 pointsGave this about an hour of air. Nose is a bit tight but it is silky on the palate. Not as earthy/funky as some Walla Walla Syrahs, but shows more varietal pepper and meat than most "internationally" styled versions. Leaves you with an impression of real polish. May have to grab a few more from WTSO. |
